About LG Craven and Sons 

A family business built on hard work, deep expertise, and over five decades of delivering for Western Australia. 

Drainage Expertswith Over 50 Years of Experience 

LG Craven and Sons is a family business founded 15 years ago by three partners: Laurie, Jarrad, and Brodie Craven. We mainly focus our scope of work on civil construction, from stormwater and drainage to sewer (gravity, pumping, and vacuum) to water reticulation (potable and reclaimed). The company has worked for both the private and public sectors, including Water Corporation, Landcorp, Margaret River, Busselton, and Newman Shires. 
Today, the Craven family continues to lead the business with the same hands-on, quality-first 
approach that built its reputation. That growth is best represented by the "Meter Eater," our 35 ton Sumitomo excavator and the flagship of a fleet that is now seven excavators strong. 

Key Personnel 

All three owners work on-site full-time, whether laying pipes, managing paperwork, or organising materials. This hands-on ownership model is rare in the industry and means every job is directly overseen for quality, efficiency, and budget control, backed by a genuine stake in the outcome rather than hourly-rate work with less accountability.﻿
Laurie Craven, a licensed plumber for over 25 years and long-time owner-operator of backhoes, excavators, and trucks, has worked across all facets of civil construction: house connections, hot water systems, septic tanks, gravity sewer at depths over 4.5m, and water mains exceeding 5km. Internal use only - Confidential He's also experienced in earthmoving, clearing and grubbing, with strong awareness of local flora, fauna, and Aboriginal heritage areas, including close liaison with the Webb family during the AMR Shires Reclaimed Water main project. Laurie holds full NARDA qualifications and a WA licence for excavators, bobcats, backhoes, and trucks. ﻿
Brodie and Jarrad Craven joined as partners in 2000 after completing their Bachelor of Science degree at UWA. Both bring deep expertise in gravity, pumping, and vacuum sewer systems at 
depths up to 4.5m+, along with UPVC and MDPE water mains from 20mm to 280mm, and all associated fittings. Both hold NARDA qualifications for excavators, bobcats, and backhoes; Brodie also holds current PVC handling accreditation, while Jarrad manages estimating, quoting, and invoicing.
